PhishNoise je kompaktni eksperimentalni sintesajzer koji iz jednostavnog elektroničkog sklopa izvlači iznenađujuće bogat i nepredvidiv svijet zvuka. S dva oscilatora, kontrolama frekvencije, blendanjem kanala i CV ulazima omogućuje stvaranje svega od pulsirajućih dronova i ritmičkih pomaka do sirovih, nestabilnih i kaotičnih zvučnih tekstura.
Posebnost PhishNoisea je u tome što svaki primjerak ima vlastiti karakter: male razlike među komponentama utječu na ponašanje sklopa, pa dva uređaja nikada ne zvuče potpuno isto. Na radionici ćemo izraditi vlastiti PhishNoise Synth, upoznati osnove njegova rada i istražiti kako jednostavna elektronika može postati vrlo neobičan i živ zvučni instrument.
Za sudjelovanje nije potrebno prethodno znanje elektronike. Radionica je intergeneracijska, uključujući djecu od 12 godina na dalje.

Uwe Schüler, umirovljeni inženjer elektronike, voli razvijati elektroničke i elektroakustične zvučne objekte i glazbene instrumente, kao i svjetlosne objekte. Njegovi objekti, akcije i radionice uvijek kritiziraju potrošačko društvo i nude mu alternative kroz korištenje recikliranih materijala i „uradi sam“ pristupa. Također mu je važno da su veće skupine sudionika uključene u umjetnički proces rada u duhu socijalne skulpture. Tijekom godina izlagao i održavao edukaciju na mnogim inozemnim festivalima poput: Transmediale Berlin, Ars Electronica Linz, Shift Festival Basel, Camp, Tinguely-Museum Basel, Interfiction Kassel, Stuttgarter Filmwinter, DIY festivali u Zürichu i Dresdenu, NoBudget-Medienfestival Tübingen, Homemade Labor Schweiz, Kunstuni Linz, HfG Karlsruhe, Lab30 Augsburg, FEZ Berlin i mnogim drugim.
Njemački medijski umjetnik i haker Ralf Schreiber radi s elektronikom, motorima, mikrofonima i malim zvučnicima. To ga vodi do kinetičkih zvučnih i svjetlosnih instalacija kao i elektronske glazbe. Njegov rad ima razigran i eksperimentalan pristup. Fokusira se na minimalnu robotiku, nasumične procese i samoodržive sustave. Za napajanje često koristi male solarne ćelije kako bi istraživao niskoenergetske procese pretvorbe svjetlosti u kretanje i zvuk. Rezultat njegovih instalacija je minimalan, što znači da su zvukovi vrlo tihi, a pokreti ponekad na rubu percepcije. Osim toga, zalaže se za otvoreni hardver i redovito nudi radionice s konceptima sklopova i nacrtima svojih radova. U centru njegovog dosadašnjeg djelovanja višegodišnji je projekt Žive čestice, autonomna audio-kinetička instalacija u uvijek novoj konstelaciji solarno pogonjenih, interaktivnih mini robot-modula. Diplomirao je na minsterskoj Umjetničkoj školi i nastavio školovanje na Akademiji za medijske umjetnosti u Koelnu. Izlagao je na brojnim izložbama u Njemačkoj i svijetu.

PhishNoise is a compact experimental synthesizer that draws a surprisingly rich and unpredictable world of sound from a simple electronic circuit. With two oscillators, frequency controls, channel blending and CV inputs, it can produce everything from pulsing drones and rhythmic shifts to raw, unstable and chaotic sonic textures.
What makes PhishNoise especially interesting is that each unit has its own character: small differences between components affect the behaviour of the circuit, so no two devices sound exactly the same. During the workshop, we will build our own PhishNoise Synth, learn the basics of how it works and explore how simple electronics can become a highly unusual and lively sound instrument.
No previous knowledge of electronics is required. The workshop is intergenerational and open to participants aged 12 and above.

Uwe Schüler is a retired electronics engineer who enjoys developing electronic and electroacoustic sound objects and musical instruments, as well as light-based works. His objects, actions and workshops often critically address consumer society and propose alternatives through the use of recycled materials and DIY approaches. He is also interested in involving larger groups of participants in the artistic process, in the spirit of social sculpture.
Over the years, he has exhibited and led educational programmes at numerous international festivals and institutions, including transmediale Berlin, Ars Electronica Linz, Shift Festival Basel, Camp, Tinguely Museum Basel, Interfiction Kassel, Stuttgarter Filmwinter, DIY festivals in Zurich and Dresden, NoBudget Medienfestival Tübingen, Homemade Labor Switzerland, Kunstuni Linz, HfG Karlsruhe, Lab30 Augsburg, FEZ Berlin, and many others.
German media artist and hacker Ralf Schreiber works with electronics, motors, microphones and small loudspeakers, creating kinetic sound and light installations as well as electronic music. His work takes a playful and experimental approach, focusing on minimal robotics, random processes and self-sustaining systems. He often uses small solar cells as a power source to explore low-energy processes that transform light into movement and sound.
His installations are deliberately minimal, with sounds that are often very quiet and movements that sometimes take place at the edge of perception. He is also an advocate of open hardware and regularly leads workshops in which he shares circuit concepts and construction plans for his works.
At the centre of his long-term artistic practice is the multi-year project Living Particles, an autonomous audio-kinetic installation consisting of ever-changing constellations of solar-powered, interactive miniature robotic modules. He graduated from the Münster Academy of Art and continued his studies at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. His work has been presented in numerous exhibitions in Germany and internationally.
