I can give : many creative ideas, a young point of view, my good mood, my desire to learn and to pass on, to transmit. I would like numerous meetings with people from very different backgrounds, a new learning space’s discoveries, opportunity to work in team and to practise my English.

I am people’s person and enjoy working in a team. I am practical, goal orientated, have a good knowledge of public engagement programmes in the heritage sector. I am curious, inquisitive, I seek knowledge, I like to learn as I have fun. Museomix gives an opportunity to meet people who are equally passionate about heritage/museums but see things in a different way to my own. It is a celebration of community work, it is an opportunity to creatively exchange, to gain new perspectives, new understanding, new skill and new friends. I greatly look forward to it and thank you for the opportunity.

Head of the Guided tours – The Royal Residence in Trondheim

After my studies in history and art history in Oslo, Rome and Paris, I have worked for four years as head of guided tours in The Royal Residence in Trondheim.(which is part of MiSTs responsibility). My work has gained me experience in teaching 18th and 19th century decorative arts and architecture to our visitors. I think my background from communicating cultural heritage to a wider audience will be an important contribution to Museomix. I have also worked with several exhibitions and museum education programs at the Museum of Decorative Arts (one of the units in MiST).The museum has a focus on contemporary arts and crafts, and developing meeting points between our audiences, our collection and the contemporary material based artists. The last years I have worked with exhibitions concerning the Norwegian Monarchy, early modern architecture and women rights. In 2014 I have developed an educational program for a memorial site in memory of the victims of the terrorist attack the 22nd of July 2011. I hope that my experience with developing educational programs with a wide range of different topics will be of relevance to this international museum network. I believe that Museomix would be a unique opportunity for the Museum of decorative arts in developing the museum experience among our visitors. By combining new technology, perspectives and innovative methods, we hope to change and challenge the perception of the museum among our stakeholders and general public. The Museum of decorative arts was founded in the 19th century to promote consciousness about quality and craft to consumers and producers.

Hundred of case study about museums and public involvement worldwide. Many new case studies !! … To learn good practices.

JASPER VISSER
Engaged by the Creative museum’s project to visit Museomix in Paris then Museomix in Gand in the same week-end ! To learn from the trainees and the tutor and their experience: they’re the experts and I’m not there to check them. I think I should stay an observer in all events. Although I like participatory research, I don’t want to influence the experience. Of course, I can give a hand and participate without being too present. I’ll be an enthusiastic and positively biased reporter, who is there to make them shine 🙂
