My Sporting Heritage – Erasmus+ Sport Project – first project results

The My Sporting Heritage project, funded by the European Union within the Erasmus+ Sport programme, aims to contribute to the identification, preservation and promotion of a European sporting heritage, that is often under-exposed. Although experts in the field of sport and culture agree that European sporting heritage is very rich, it is very little known to the general public.

The My Sporting Heritage project aims to address this lack of visibility, as well as to focus on the lack of educational tools – particularly for young people – that approach European sporting culture through the prism of heritage.

One of the first results of the My Sporting Heritage project is the organization of the workshop that gathers European researchers specialising in sporting heritage, planned at the University of Amsterdam, on 6 September 2024, aiming to take stock of the national specificities of European sporting heritage.

Then, in 2025, the project will develop virtual exhibitions and educational tools, based on the priorities and topics identified by the researchers.

The project draws on the scientific expertise of the French National Museum of Sport – in Nice, responsible for the overall coordination – the University of Amsterdam, the European Cultural Route of Sport Association, the think tank Sport & Citoyenneté, Michael Culture Foundation, as well as Radiona.org Association from Zagreb.

Radiona.org is responsible for visual identity, website and education tools development within the project. The visual identity and website were designed by Damir Prizmić.
