Radionica HDL4FPGA na ULX3S koju vodi Miguel Angel Sagreras (Argentina), autor projekta ScopeIO, održat će se u četvrtak i petak, 20. i 21. veljače 2025. od 18:00 sati u Radioninom laboratoriju.

Prvog dana čut ćemo sve o tome kako i zašto je HDL4FPGA projekt započeo i zaronit ćemo duboko u HDL kod kako bismo čuli sve o podržanim platformama i periferijama za ScopeIO projekt.
ScopeIO je alat za prikaz valnih oblika signala, koji mogu potjecati iz samog FPGA ili iz vanjskih izvora. U svom najjednostavnijem obliku funkcionira kao osciloskop. Kontrola može biti samostalna, pomoću četiri gumba, ili daljinska, koristeći LAN, USB ili UART priključak. Widgeti su istaknuti kada su u fokusu i trepere kada se mogu mijenjati. Drugi dan imat ćemo praktičnu radionicu na kojoj ćemo učitati ScopeIO u ULX3S i eksperimentirati s novopečenim značajkama.

O voditelju:
Miguel Angel Sagreras izvanredni je profesor na Sveučilištu San Martín, specijaliziran za digitalne sustave i mikrokontrolere. Inženjer elektronike koji je diplomirao na Sveučilištu u Buenos Airesu, Miguel je radio na razvoju OFDM demodulatora za standard digitalne televizije ISDB-T, gdje identificira potrebu za pristupačnim alatima za analizu i otklanjanje pogrešaka. Čak i uz pristup razvojnim instrumentima, vrijeme potrebno za međusobno povezivanje uređaja i dalje je ostajalo značajna prepreka. To ga je iskustvo dovelo do stvaranja HDL4FPGA, repozitorija s alatima za dizajn i razvoj digitalnih sustava. Osim toga, Miguel je duboko zainteresiran za softver niske razine, hakiranje kernela i obradu signala.

The HDL4FPGA on ULX3S workshop led by Miguel Angel Sagreras (Argentina), author of the ScopeIO project, will be held on Thursday and Friday, February 20 and 21, 2025, from 6:00 PM in Radiona’s laboratory.
First day we will hear all about how and why HDL4FPGA project started and we will dive deep into HDL code to hear all about supported platforms and peripherals for SopeIO project.
ScopeIO is a tool for displaying waveforms of signals, which can originate either from within the FPGA itself or from external sources. In its simplest form, it functions as an oscilloscope. Control can be standalone, using four buttons, or remote, utilizing LAN, USB, or a UART port. Widgets are highlighted when focused and blink when they can be modified.
Second day we will have a hands-on workshop where we will load ScopeIO into ULX3S and experiment with newly baked features.

About workshop leader:
Miguel Angel Sagreras is an Associate Professor at the University of San Martín, specializing in digital systems and microcontrollers. An electronics engineer graduated from the University of Buenos Aires, Miguel has worked on the development of an OFDM demodulator for the ISDB-T digital television standard, where he identified the need for accessible debugging and analysis tools. Even with access to development instruments, the time required to interconnect the devices remained a significant barrier. This experience led him to create HDL4FPGA, a repository with tools for the design and development of digital systems. Additionally, Miguel has a deep interest in low-level software, kernel hacking, and signal processing.
